Where We’ve Been, Where We’re Going

Happy Birthday to Sensory Fuse!

In August of 2014, Sensory Fuse, which started out as a pipe dream of one woman who was frustrated with the quality of adult oriented content online, became officially recognized as Sensory Fuse LLC, and transformed from a blog to the beginning of a multimedia company with great ambition.

As our first year comes to a close, we can’t help but look back and feel so grateful to the community of talented writers that have become a part of Sensory Fuse, and to others who have helped us grow with their expertise, insight and encouragement. Most of the adult industry puts profit before pleasure, and we are eternally grateful to have discovered so many people who were willing to put pleasure first. Our first commitment has been to grow our brand independently and even though we have attracted the attention of a number of influential investors, we wanted to cement a strong foundation before any outside investment came in. As such, we’ve bootstrapped all the while, keeping up with companies who have a huge bankroll, and this has helped point us in the right direction to best use our resources.

Within our first year, we have accomplished so much! From growing our team of contributors to producing our first video and expanding from a blog to a multi-site network with a video on demand subscription site, this year has been full of amazing learning experiences, and huge achievements.

In the past few months you may have noticed that we’ve gone a bit quiet, and that is because we have been planning something huge for the next stage of growth. As the Founder and CEO, I have been the sole full time employee with a number of incredible part time contributors working with me. However, as our company moves forward, my role as manager and editor must shift, and because of this shift, I have had to put my efforts towards other matters than recruiting writers, editing articles, and posting and promoting our features.

I wanted to give you a little glimpse into our future, though. For the past two months, my time has been spent researching and preparing for the Javascript coding boot camp I am now attending, which is a fully immersive 60-80 hour a week program, with extensive pre-work that has meant that I need to devote all of my time to this one endeavor.

However, the great thing about coding boot camps, and why I knew attending one would be the best move I could make for the company, is that they are short, sweet and to the point. After attending this boot camp, I will be able to fill a role that needed to be more fully developed within Sensory Fuse, that of Chief Technology Officer.

We want to grow beyond the traditional video consumption model and having a strong programmer filling a lead role in the company will allow us to realize the ideas that we are so excited about, and transform Sensory Fuse into the leader in interactive adult video.

As a small, bootstrapping company, we’ve had to manage our resources wisely, and we really do hate to go so long without sharing interesting articles and fun videos with you. However, going through this process will allow Sensory Fuse to be led by a technical founder who can not only develop these innovative ideas but also provide a strong financial base for the company due to the prolific freelance market that surrounds the sought after skills this boot camp imparts. So, we ask for your patience, for a brief period, and promise you that the wait will be worth it!
